SENIOR HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER - CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR - DUBLIN
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is a leading tier 1 Irish Civils & Building Contractor with
projects throughout Ireland.
An experienced construction health & safety officer required to work
on projects based in Dublin City Centre
Supervise, support and guide all project safety advisors under your
control
Promote safe working practices and manage the implementation of
company HSE policy and procedures on the project.
Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant
personnel
Ensure that the project team has been provided with the relevant HSE
documentation
Ensure that HSE project plans meet company standards
Ensure that HSE issues are discussed at project review meetings.
Manage the maintenance of clear records to comply with company
internal and external audit standards
Assist the site management team and sub-contractor owners with risk
assessments and sub-contractor evaluations and documentation review
when requested
Deliver HSE training where appropriate and as agreed with the Project
Manager
Suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for incident prevention
and forward to the Project Manager / HSE &Sustainability Manager for
consideration
Support the Project Manager in incident investigation
Monitor the adequacy and timely close out of incident reporting and
HSE inspections.
Liaising with the relevant legal authorities (i.e. H.S.A, EPA etc.)
Identify ideas for HSE improvement and issues submitting to the
project manager and the HSE & Sustainability manager for
consideration.
Attend relevant HSE meetings as required
Assist managers with safety and environmental submissions, risk
assessments and vendor evaluations when requested.
Communicate, demonstrate and promote HSE ethos, values and concepts
Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
Level 8 qualification in health and safety
5+ years successful postgraduate experience in project HSE management
Successful experience as a chartered Project Safety Advisor.
Thorough knowledge of OHSAS *.
Chartered membership of IOSH.
Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation
Capable of leading major accident investigations internally
